Hale High School was briefly evacuated Monday afternoon as the Tulsa Fire Department investigated reports of a possible chemical spill.
It turned out someone had set a toilet paper roll on fire. Students were dismissed for the day about 30 minutes after being evacuated at 3:15 p.m., said Janice Jones, a spokeswoman for Tulsa Public Schools.
Monday was the first day back after winter break for students and educators. At Hale, 6960 E. 21st St., students are normally dismissed for the day at 3:50 p.m.
