OKLAHOMA CITY — The Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals has upheld the life prison sentence of a 22-year-old man convicted of first-degree murder in the shooting death of a teenager in Tulsa County.

The court handed down the ruling Monday for Isaiah Hasan Gilbert. Gilbert was convicted in the May 17, 2010, death of 17-year-old Kenneth Daniels at a Tulsa apartment complex.

Prosecutors said Gilbert also shot a woman and he used a gun to rob another teenager of a different handgun before shooting Daniels.

Authorities found evidence that before the shooting, gambling and drug activity occurred at the apartment where Daniels was shot.

Gilbert's attorney, Assistant Public Defender Richard Couch, did not respond to an after-hours telephone call seeking comment.
