A pedestrian was seriously injured after he was hit by a pickup on Peoria Avenue on Wednesday.

The 43-year-old was struck by a blue GMC pickup that was being driven northbound on Peoria near 17th Street around 10 a.m., said Tulsa Police Officer Leland Ashley.

Traffic investigators said the pedestrian was reportedly staggering from the curb into the roadway before the collision.

Medics treated the pedestrian and he was taken to St. John Medical Center, where he was admitted in serious condition, EMSA spokeswoman Kelli Bruer said.

The driver was not cited.
