A man accused of fatally stabbing a 28-year-old in Tulsa’s eighth homicide of the year was arrested late Tuesday.

Robert Alexander Hill was taken into custody near 49th Street and Memorial Drive on a complaint of first-degree murder.

The victim suffered “a serious stab wound to the neck” in the 2400 block of East Seventh Street around 8 p.m. Tuesday, homicide detectives said. Medics transported the man to St. John Medical Center, where he died a short time later.

An officer who responded to the stabbing developed Hill as “an immediate suspect,” said Sgt. Dave Walker.

The Northern Oklahoma Violent Crimes Task Force later arrested Hill around 11:30 p.m.

Hill served 14 years of a 20-year prison sentence after he was convicted of robbery and attempted robbery after the former conviction of a felony in Oklahoma County in 1990.

The stabbing follows five shooting deaths, including a quadruple homicide, on Monday. Two men were also fatally shot in separate slayings Friday and Sunday.
