Allen Klein, born September 5, 1931, has lost his battle with Lymphoma. Allen passed away In Tulsa, OK on Monday, January 7, 2013. He died surrounded by his children, Minna Lee, Edie and Scott. Allen was born in Germantown, PA, third son of Meyer and Ruth Levy Klein, (of blessed memory). He graduated from Central Boys High School in Philadelphia, then attended Penn State University, graduating with a degree in Electrical Engineering. As a young father of two he attended Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA, earning an MBA Degree. Allen began his professional work career at Caloric Corporation in Topton, PA, manufacturers of gas ranges and other appliances. Caloric Corporation was started by Allen’s great grandfather, Samuel Klein (of blessed memory), and was originally known as the Klein Stove Company of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In 1963 Allen welcomed into his young family, his son Scott and the family resided in Allentown for many years. Allen left Caloric after a merger with Raytheon Corporation and moved to Tulsa, OK, where he attended University of Tulsa, College of Law. He earned a Juris Doctor and began his legal career with a private law firm in Tulsa and in 1981 was appointed as Special District Judge for the State of Oklahoma. He ranked first in longevity and retired after 30 years on the bench in December 2011. Allen was also an accomplished runner and competed in numerous races throughout the United States. He completed the Tulsa Run in October of 2012, finishing 2nd in his age group, over 80. Allen is survived by this three children, Minna Lee Erlichman (Jeffery), Edie Paradine (David) and Scott Klein. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Casey and Corey Paradine, Jerrica and Lucas Klein, and Jaime Marie Coverini, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, January 11th at Temple Israel, 2004 East 22nd Place, Tulsa, OK. Interment will follow immediately at Rose Hill Cemetery.
