It's official. After more than a week of hyping the announcement, the Academy of Country Music finally made the announcement.

Replacing Reba McEntire as co-host for this year's ACM Awards will be Luke Bryan. He will join Sooner State native Blake Shelton for this year's awards, to be broadcast April 7 in Las Vegas on the CBS network.

Shelton joined as co-host two years ago. This will be Bryan's first CMA co-host rodeo.

Chockie native McEntire left her role after more 14 years as host so she could work on her new sitcom "Malibu Country," reported the Associated Press.

McEntire first hosted the ACM Awards in 1986, and every year since 1999.
