Regarding the Jan. 1 letter, "Accessories," by John B. Wolf, minister emeritus of All Souls Unitarian Church: As he was quick to "lay down the gauntlet" in calling out various groups whom he has judged morally complicit in the slaughter of innocents (although he was not forthright in naming any within those groups who have actually pulled the trigger), he also quoted from Matthew 2: 17-18, "...lamentation and great weeping, and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children because they are no more..."

I agree with the lamentation within this scripture and that there is indeed great sorrow in the brutal and senseless slaying of our loved ones, especially our children. That being said, it would be interesting to know his judgment regarding both those who are complicit in and those who are responsible for the millions of souls who have been slaughtered for convenience sake within the abortion mills, and continue to be murdered in the womb at a rate of more than a million a year in this country alone.

Should not Rev. Wolf's gauntlet be thrown down for these innocent? Has he wept for them and mourned? What of those who rule and those who are complicit within this inexcusable and heinous realm? The number of souls these profiteers have extinguished far exceeds those lost even in our wars. Should not Wolf's words, "In the name of all that is holy, it is time to be done with them," be directed rather to these "Herods"?
