POTEAU – A LeFlore County jury found a man guilty Friday of child neglect and child sexual abuse and recommend that he serve 245 years in prison, District Attorney Jeff Smith said.

James Edward Haskin Jr., 62, of Monroe was convicted of three counts of child sexual abuse and nine counts of felony child neglect involving relatives.

His wife, Lucinda Catherine Haskin, 41, entered a no-contest plea last week to child-neglect and enabling child sexual assault charges, court records show.

Formal sentencing for the couple is set for Feb. 23. A mistrial in an earlier trial led to the retrial that began Monday, Smith said.
