Letter to the Editor: Bait and switch

For months we've been told that Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton would appear before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and the House Foreign Affairs Committee to answer questions on the Benghazi attack that killed four Americans.
Well, guess what? Not gonna happen. Seems the secretary had a stomach virus that led to dehydration, causing her to faint, resulting in a concussion, and therefore would be unable to appear.
Timing is everything. Instead, senior U.S. State Department officials are to take her place at both hearings.
In the words of the late Mr. Rogers: Can you spell bait and switch? I knew you could.
Editor's note: Secretary Clinton is scheduled to testify before Congress Jan. 22.
