Two women killed in separate crashes

Two women died on state highways Saturday and Sunday, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said.
Killed were Jeanine Barrett, 62, of Owasso and Christina Lynn Hill, 29, of Edmond.
Barrett was driving a 2005 Kia west on the Will Rogers Turnpike about 4 p.m. Saturday, when her vehicle struck another vehicle that was disabled on the highway - about six miles west of Adair in Mayes County - due to a previous crash, troopers said.
Barrett was pinned in the Kia for about 45 minutes, then taken to Mayes County Medical Center in Pryor, where she was pronounced dead about 7 p.m., the OHP said.
Daniel Hurst, 29, of Clarksville, Tenn., the driver of the disabled vehicle, a 2012 Jeep, was taken to Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa for observation in good condition with head, body, arm and leg injuries, troopers said.
The turnpike was wet at the time of the crash, and weather may have contributed to the cause, the OHP said.
Barrett was not wearing a seat belt; Hurst was, the OHP said.
Hill was driving a 2009 Ford Focus at a high rate of speed east on Oklahoma 51 near Lake Carl Blackwell in Payne County about 1:30 a.m. Sunday, when the vehicle went out of control on a curve, exited the roadway to the south and struck a tree, troopers said.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Hill was wearing a seat belt.
The cause of the crash was listed as unsafe speed for a curve, the OHP said.
