CUSHING — A spokeswoman for the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation said agents investigating whether Cushing police were justified when they shot and killed a teenager are working to quickly complete a report on the incident — but could not estimate when it would be finished.
OSBI spokeswoman Jessica Brown said Monday that agents are interviewing the officers involved in the shooting, any witnesses to the incident and analyzing the autopsy on 18-year-old Rabih Ozeir.
Ozeir was shot by Cushing officers late Thursday and died of his wounds Friday at a Tulsa hospital.
Cushing police asked the OSBI to investigate whether the shooting was justified. The officers involved are on paid administrative leave as the incident is investigated.
Brown said the OSBI will submit its findings to the Payne County district attorney.
