Rice outlasts Tulsa women

Rice outlasted Tulsa for a 56-53 win in women's college basketball on Sunday in Houston.
TU (5-10, 0-2 in Conference USA) struggled with its shooting throughout the game, hitting just 26 percent (18-of-67) of its attempts from the field.
Taleya Mayberry finished with a team-leading 17 points along with nine rebounds and four assists, while Kelsee Grovey added 12 points. Tiffani Couisnard scored eight points and pulled down a career-high 17 rebounds.
Jessica Kuster had 18 points and 12 rebounds for Rice (9-6, 1-1).
"So far we just can't find the right way to win, but it is going to turn and when it does it will turn in a big way because of the way our team is fighting and competing," TU head coach Matilda Mossman said.
Tulsa will host Marshall at 7 p.m. Thursday.
