Man hangs himself on school playground in Midwest City

MIDWEST CITY — A man was found dead hanging from a basketball goal on an elementary school playground Tuesday morning, police Assistant Police Chief Sid Porter said.
The case is being investigated as a suicide.
“It's just a tragic deal,” Porter said. “The kids are being shielded from the sight.”
A principal went outside Ridgecrest Elementary, 137 Ridgewood Drive, about 8 a.m. and saw the man hanging from the goal. Porter said someone from the state medical examiner's office is on the scene to investigate the death.
