OKLAHOMA CITY - A former basketball standout at U.S. Grant High School was gunned down Monday morning during a botched robbery in Oklahoma City, police said.
Anthony Hartfield Jr., 20, was shot and killed about 3:20 a.m. at 1215 NE 46, police Master Sgt. Gary Knight said. Someone initially called 911 to report a burglary at the house. When officers arrived, they found Hartfield dead.
Knight said investigators think someone kicked in the front door, shot Hartfield and then ran away. Police do not have any suspects in the case.
Hartfield graduated from U.S. Grant in May. He was a Big All-City and All-State honorable mention selection by The Oklahoman for his junior and senior seasons, when he averaged 22 points per game.
