Notes: The Sooners' feel-good story heads north to Iowa State, where their six-game winning streak will be threatened. The Cyclones have won three of four in the Big 12 Conference, the only defeat coming at No. 1 Baylor. They are coming off Saturday's 68-52 victory over TCU, an outcome dictated by their sheer size. With a frontline of 6-foot-7 Anna Prins, 6-3 Hallie Christofferson and 6-2 Chelsea Poppens, ISU outrebounded the Horned Frogs 44-25. Poppens posted 24 points and 15 rebounds.
It will be on Nicole Griffin, Joanna McFarland and reserve forward Portia Durrett to keep the Cyclones from that kind of physical domination on Tuesday. The good news for OU is McFarland is playing the most productive ball of her college career. She scored 14 points and grabbed 16 rebounds in Saturday's 65-55 triumph over Texas Tech.
After her team's sixth straight win in the face of a medical disaster, OU coach Sherri Coale said: "I love these guys. I'm proud of them. ... I love their spirit. I love the way they fight together and their belief in one another and themselves and the way they represent our program."
