Claudia Frances White Baxter, 83, died January 12, 2013 in Oklahoma City. She was born May 14, 1929 in Broken Arrow, OK, the daughter of Claud E. and Laura Frances (Lindsey) White. She graduated from Tulsa Central High School in 1947 and received her bachelor’s from Tulsa University, her master’s from the University of Oklahoma and her doctorate from Oklahoma State University. She married Donald D. Baxter, Jr. on April 12, 1963 in Tulsa, OK. Claudia taught in the Tulsa Public Schools, at Indiana State University and she was an administrator in the Grand Prairie Schools in Grand Prairie, TX. She was an active member of Yukon First Baptist Church, Quail Springs Baptist Church, Delta Kappa Gamma and the Gideon’s Auxiliary. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Donald, who died December 6, 2012; sisters, Doris Slocombe, Helen Stillwell, Dorothy Gene Kebert and Betty Stepp. Survivors include children, Don Baxter III and wife Vickie of Locust Grove, OK, Jess W. Baxter and wife Sarah of OKC, and Marti Burton and husband Barry of Yukon, OK; brother Jim White and wife Anne of Tulsa; 3 granddaughters, 2 great-grandsons and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the Mansions at Waterford, Valir Hospice and Ellen for their loving care. Memorial donations may be made to Valir Hospice, 721 NW 6th St, Suite 202, OKC 73102. Viewing will be 9am-9pm on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at Mercer-Adams. Funeral services will be at 10:00 am Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at Quail Springs Baptist Church, OKC with graveside services at 3:00 pm Wednesday at the Rose Hill Memorial Park Cemetery, Tulsa, OK.
