David Michael Medlock, 34, died Saturday, January 12, 2013 at Hillcrest Hospital in Tulsa OK. He was born on January 10, 1979 in Tulsa. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Earl and Erin Cates, and Sue and Leon Medlock. Survivors include his parents, Dan and Lyna Medlock of Germantown TN; sister, Rebecca (Birch) Wright, nephew, Parker Wright, and niece, Caroline Wright of Fayetteville, AR; and brother, Steven Medlock of Memphis. Other survivors are Karen and Mike Albright, Broken Arrow OK; Jeff and Mary Jane Silva, Fayetteville AR; Max and Lisa Conner, Prairie Grove, AR; and many cousins and extended family. David graduated from Germantown High School. He attended UMKC and graduated from the University of Memphis, playing soccer for both colleges. David had a tre- mendous love for the game of soccer, whether it be playing, coaching, or just watching. The family would like to give special thanks to his doctors and hospital staff for their care and compassion during his fight against cancer. David knew he was loved by many friends and family in his too short walk through life. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude Children’s Hospital. A memorial service will be held at Farmington Methodist Church in Farmington AR on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. with burial in Rutherford Family Cemetery. A celebration of life service will be held Saturday at 10:30 at Germantown United Methodist in Germantown, TN.
