The death of a man who was found near some Tulsa train tracks Wednesday was not suspicious, police said.

The injured or ill 56-year-old man was discovered by a train operator in the 100 block of South Guthrie Avenue about 2:15 p.m., Sgt. Mike Brown said.

The man, whose name has not been released, was taken in serious condition by ambulance to St. John Medical Center, where he later died, Brown said.

It was initially thought that the man had been struck by a train, but that report was unfounded, a preliminary investigation indicates, Brown said.

Authorities ruled out foul play as a contributing factor in the man's death, although it is unclear how he died, police said.
