Louis Herman Conrady was born January 21, 1924 in Wakita, OK. He was 13th of 14 children born to Robert and Katherine (Ciskowski) Conrady. He passed away Saturday, January 12, 2013 at the age of 88 years – just a few days short of his 89th birthday. Louis grew up working on the family farm located northwest of Wakita. After graduating from high school, he was inducted into the military, serving in WW II from December 1944 to July 1946, first in the Southern Philippines as a construction foreman, then in South Korea as a sergeant in the 50th Military Government. After returning to civilian life he met and married Doris McClain. They had four children: Michael, Louis Jr., Joe and Katherine. Louis brought his family to Tulsa where he established a business in the Brookside area; Louie’s Garage, which he owned and operated 50 years. Louis is survived by his wife, Sophia, of the home; three sons: Michael (wife, Carol), Louis, Jr., (wife, Mary), Joe (Vicki); one daughter: Katherine (husband, Mike Chancey), eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his wife Doris of 32 years, his infant daughter Lila, his parents, six brothers: Frank, infant brother Robert, Fabe, Bob, Clement, and Edwin; seven sisters: Otilda Cink, Suzie Cink, Clara Conrady, Edith Roth, Cecilia Simons, Verena Larson and Bertha Cink. Louis will be deeply missed by his loving family and by his many friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 17, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church followed by a graveside service at Floral Haven Cemetery.
