A bullet found in a hallway at Metro Christian Academy lead authorities to a lockdown and search of the building, police said.

Shortly before 1 p.m., police were called to the school in the 6300 block of South Trenton Avenue after a .22-caliber bullet was found, said Tulsa police Officer Jillian Roberson.

A student had reportedly found the bullet on the floor in a hallway and took it to the office, which then led officials to call police, Roberson said.

Officers arrived and did a complete search of the lockers and the school grounds with police dogs and bomb-sniffing dogs, and no other materials were found, Roberson said.

Students remained in their classrooms during the search, and Roberson said police did not think any students were in danger.

Students were released for the day on a normal schedule, Roberson said.
