Notes: The least ominous conference road game of the season awaits the ORU women's basketball team, which will play a Thursday game at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.

There are 343 women's Division I teams ranked in NCAA statistics.

Texas A&M-Corpus Christi ranks 341st nationally in scoring (46.4 points per game), ahead of only Chicago State and North Carolina Central.

The Islanders, who rank 339th nationally in field goal percentage (.310), have scored more than 51 points only once in the last 13 games.

Of course, you won't beat many opponents if you can't put the ball in the basket.

That explains why Texas A&M-Corpus Christi is 1-14 overall and 0-4 in Southland Conference games.

The Islanders beat Cornell on Dec. 18 for their only victory.

ORU needs to take care of business in order to keep pace with frontrunners in the league race.

Central Arkansas is alone at the top of the conference with a 4-0 record.

But the Golden Eagles are among five Southland squads with only one conference defeat.
