Stillwater High School's Noah Gade has been named 2012-13 Gatorade Oklahoma Boys Cross Country Runner of the Year.

Gade, who will run at Oklahoma State next year, was the top Oklahoma finisher at the 2012 Foot Locker South Regional in Charlotte, N.C., in November with a time of 15:03 (fastest 5k time run by an Oklahoma high school runner) and qualified for the National Foot Locker Championships in San Diego, Calif.

As a senior, Gade won the Class 6A state meet in a time of 15:30. He is a 4.0 student and a National Merit Scholar semifinalist. He was the Tulsa World All-Metro co-Runner of the Year.

In 1985, Gatorade established an award honoring America's elite high school student athletes. Now in its third decade, the Gatorade Player of the Year award has become one of the most prestigious accolades in high school sports.
