GLENPOOL – Police are investigating the abduction and sexual assault of a 12-year-old girl on Jan. 8.

The girl was walking home from school between 4 and 4:30 p.m. when a man in a white Jeep Cherokee took her against her will from the 400 block of 138th Place and sexually assaulted her at two locations, said Glenpool Police Chief Dennis Waller.

The victim told police the man took her to what appeared to be a construction site, which had a locked gate and was near some railroad tracks, before a woman approached the vehicle and asked why he was there, Waller said. The girl’s attacker spoke to the woman through a crack in the window before driving to another location and continuing the assault.

The man returned the girl to her home two hours later. He is described as an older white man with gray hair, a beard and glasses. The girl said her attacker was between 5 feet 8 inches and 6 feet tall and weighed about 250 pounds.

The Jeep Cherokee is possibly a model from the early 1990s.

The attempted abduction of another girl was reported the same day, but police do not believe the incidents are related because the vehicle descriptions do not match.

Anyone with information is asked to call Glenpool police at 918-322-8110 or Crime Stoppers at 918-596-COPS (2677).
