14-3 overall, 4-1 Big 12
Catching up: The Sooners had their six-game winning streak snapped Tuesday in an 82-61 loss at Iowa State. That put both teams in a second-place Big 12 Conference tie behind Baylor. OU beat Texas Tech 65-55 last Saturday. Guard Aaryn Ellenberg scored 26 to lead the Sooners.
Player to watch: Ellenberg didn't shoot the ball well at Iowa State, but she still found her way to 16 points. Her scoring run over the past eight games, since Whitney Hand was lost to a knee injury: 16, 26, 26, 18, 19, 24, 27 and 21 points. Ellenberg leads the Big 12 in 3-pointers per game and 3-point percentage.
Notes
Not much muscle: OU was outrebounded 47-27 at Iowa State. That marked the third time this season the Sooners were outrebounded by at least 20. It happened in OU's 86-80 loss to UCLA Nov. 14, and in the Sooners' 78-70 victory at Texas on Jan. 5.
OU gives up 37 rebounds per game, the second-most in the Big 12 Conference.
Finding the range: The Sooners give up some numbers inside, but they have a habit of making up for that outside. They lead the Big 12 in 3-pointers (140) and 3-point percentage (39).
OU's single-season record for 3s is 251, set in 2010-11. If the Sooners keep up their current pace, they'll break that record before they get to Dallas for the Big 12 Tournament.
