Sunday: Fun at Gilcrease
Families with kids ages 3-15 can enjoy "Funday Sunday" from noon to 4 p.m. at Gilcrease Museum, 1400 N. Gilcrease Museum Road. Attendees will write poetry honoring Martin Luther King Jr. during the free event.
The museum will also be showing two documentaries - "Ansel Adams: Photographer" and "National Geographic Live!" - on Sunday, in conjunction with its current exhibit of photographs of the American West by National Geographic photographers. The films start at 1:30 p.m. and are free with museum admission.

Monday: MLK parade
The Martin Luther King Jr. Commemorative Parade starts at 11 a.m. Monday.
The route will start at Detroit Avenue, travel east on John Hope Franklin Boulevard through the OSU-Tulsa campus, then south on Greenwood Avenue to Archer Street and ends in front of ONEOK Field.
About 3,000 people will participate in the parade, which will be broadcast on Channel 8.

"If You Give a Mouse a Cookie" on Tuesday is part of the Literature Live series at the Tulsa Convention Center.
Tuesday: 'If You Give a Mouse a Cookie'
The "Literature Live!" theater series will present "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie" at 9:30 a.m. and noon Tuesday at the Tulsa Convention Center, 100 Civic Center. The story follows a boy who shares his snack with a hungry mouse, then learns a funny lesson about cause-and-effect.
Admission is $5 per person, with group discounts available.

Wednesday: 'Jekyll & Hyde'
The musical thriller "Jekyll & Hyde" will be at the Tulsa PAC, 110 E. Second St., Tuesday through Jan. 27, with "American Idol" contestant and Tony Award nominee Constantine Maroulis in the title role.

Thursday: ORU basketball
The Oral Roberts University men will continue their pursuit of a Southland Conference title with a 7:30 p.m. game against Lamar at the Mabee Center. ORU is in second place in its first season as a league member.
Lamar, which was the conference's representative in the NCAA Tournament last season, is struggling at 2-16 overall and 0-6 in conference games.

This year's Tulsa Gridiron, "Vision Trouble, or Help! We've Fallen Off the Fiscal Cliff and We Can't Get Up," is set for 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the Tulsa PAC, 110 E. Second St.
Through skits and songs, local performers will skewer a year's worth of governmental foibles, from the elections to Tulsa's new trash collection program.

Air Supply will perform a sold-out show at the River Spirit Event Center at 7 p.m. Friday.
Air Supply gained international acclaim in the early 1980s with the hit "Lost in Love." Other Air Supply singles include "Every Woman in the World," "All Out of Love" and "The One That You Love."
And country musician Tracy Lawrence will also perform a sold-out show at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Osage Event Center. Lawrence first hit the spotlight in 1991 with his debut, "Sticks and Stones," which spawned four Top 10 Billboard country hits.

R.K. Shows Inc.'s gun and knife show, featuring about 1,000 tables, will be at Expo Square's Central Park Hall from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
Tickets are $12 for adults and $4 for children ages 6 to 12.

Multiplatinum rockers Daughtry and 3 Doors Down will bring their co-headlining tour to the Tulsa Convention Center at 7 p.m. Saturday.
Daughtry's set includes new music and his hits, such as "Home," "It's Not Over," "Feels Like Tonight" and "No Surprise."
3 Doors Down is out to support its new greatest hits compilation. The album includes "Kryptonite," "When I'm Gone" "Behind Those Eyes," and "It's Not My Time."

Saturday, Sunday: AMSOIL Arenacross
AMSOIL Arenacross, a motorcycle dirt racing event, will be at the BOK Center at 7 p.m. Saturday and noon Sunday.
This season, the championship will feature a new format of on-track competition. The BOK Center floor will be covered in 170 truckloads of soil that will form a man-made dirt battleground featuring numerous jumps and obstacles.

Saturday: 'In the Land of Chopin'
Music and artists from Poland will be on display on Saturday. The Signature Symphony at Tulsa Community College will feature guest conductor Piotr Sulkowski leading the orchestra in a program titled "In the Land of Chopin," featuring music by contemporary Polish composers, including Grazyna Bacewicz, whose Violin Concerto No. 3 will be performed by the orchestra's concertmaster Maureen O'Boyle.

Bluebird seminar
Bob Walshaw, a bluebird expert, will talk about the birds during a free seminar at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24, at Bass Pro Shop, 101 Bass Pro Drive in Broken Arrow.
Walshaw, who takes care of more than 100 bluebird houses around his neighborhood, has written a booklet called "The How and Why of Bluebirding."

Dogville open house
Dogville Daycare & Boarding, a new Tulsa business specializing in caring for old dogs and dogs with special needs, is hosting an open house event from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26.
The open house will include tours of the facility, located at 9525 E. 47th Place, as well as a puppy-kissing booth to raise money for Lab Rescue Oklahoma, a paw-painting booth, a vaccination clinic by The Mobile Pet Vet, $5 ID tags and prize giveaways. Refreshments - for humans and dogs - will be available.

The Green Country Home and Garden Show will be at the Exchange Center at Expo Square from Friday through Sunday, Jan. 25-27. More than 150 exhibitors will be at the event, featuring displays highlighting home decorating and design ideas. Local home improvement experts will also offer tips during their "how-to" seminars and demonstrations.
Hours are noon to 6 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $5 for everyone 12 and older.

Tulsa Boat, Sport & Travel Show
The Tulsa Boat, Sport & Travel Show will be at Expo Square from Monday, Jan. 28, through Feb. 3. The event will showcase the latest products on the market.
Pontoon boats, jet boats, cabin cruisers and boat-related parts and accessories will be at the show, as well as a variety of RV and camping products.
TV stars from MTV's "WakeBrothers," Animal Planet's "Hillbilly Handfishin'" and National Geographic Channel's "Mudcats" will make appearances at the show. Pro fishermen will also offer seminars.
Monday is a VIP preview night, and tickets are $15. Admission during the remainder of the show is $10 for adults, free for kids 12 and younger. Show hours are 5-9 p.m. Monday, noon-9 p.m. Tuesday through Feb. 1, 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Feb. 2, and 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Feb. 3.

'Truth, Lies and O-Rings'
Engineer and author Allan J. McDonald will speak about the Challenger space shuttle disaster during an event at the Lorton Performance Center, 550 S. Gary Place, at 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 28. The event is presented by the University of Tulsa and the Tulsa Air and Space Museum.
McDonald wrote the book "Truth, Lies and O-Rings: Inside the Space Shuttle Challenger Disaster."
According to the Tulsa Air and Space Museum's website, McDonald had warned against launching the shuttle that day, 27 years ago Monday.
