A suspect is in custody in connection with the shooting death of a 21-year-old man in Hughes County early Sunday.
Michael Eric Morris was found dead with a single gunshot wound inside a residence about 6 a.m. Sunday in the 4600 block of Shady Lane in the Hickory Hills area near Calvin, according to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation.
Joe Henry Harden, 22, was then arrested by Hughes County sheriff's deputies at the scene, the OSBI said.
While a motive for the crime has not been determined, authorities said Morris, Harden and several others were at the home for a social gathering prior to the shooting.
Harden was booked into the Hughes County Jail on a first-degree murder complaint, the OSBI said.
The OSBI is assisting Hughes County Sheriff's Office in the investigation.
