Sooners defeat Texas 69-56

NORMAN - Aaryn Ellenberg scored 22 points to lead No. 16 Oklahoma over Texas 69-56 on Saturday.
Joanna McFarland scored 15 points and Nicole Griffin added 10 for the Sooners (15-3, 5-1 Big 12), as they led throughout and rebounded from an 82-61 loss to No. 24 Iowa State on Tuesday.
Oklahoma expanded a 33-27 halftime lead with a 12-5 run to open the second half that expanded the lead to double digits and kept the Longhorns out of contention.
Morgan Hook had a team-high nine assists and seven rebounds for the Sooners.
Chassidy Fussell led Texas (7-10, 0-6) with 21 points and nine rebounds. The Longhorns have lost eight straight games.
The Sooners finished a season sweep of the Longhorns in conference play, having won 78-70 in Austin on Jan. 5. Oklahoma is off for a week before traveling to Waco, Texas, for a game at No. 1 Baylor Jan. 26.
