East Central girls fall in prestigious basketball festival

FLORISSANT, Mo. -- East Central's girls lost their final game in the prestigious Martin Luther King Basketball Showcase, falling to powerful Columbia (Mo.) Rock Bridge 65-46 on Monday afternoon.
Sophie Cunningham, a University of Missouri sophomore commit, and 6-foot-4 sophomore Cierra Porter scored 18 each to pace Rock Bridge, Missouri's Class 5 defending state champs.
Bria Pitts and Marcia Reed scored 10 each to leads the 5A No. 2 Cardinals, who finished 1-2 in the festival and fell to 10-4 overall.
