Jenks woman charged with DUI, child endangerment

Charges were filed Wednesday against a Jenks woman who was accused earlier this month of being under the influence of alcohol as she was speeding with four children in her vehicle.

Donna Jean Rogers, 62, was charged with child endangerment, aggravated DUI and unsafe lane use, Tulsa County District Court filings show.

Rogers was arrested by Bixby police after an officer saw her was driving a sport utility vehicle recklessly near 151st Street and Memorial Drive on Jan. 3, documents state. She was booked into the Tulsa Jail on driving under the influence and child endangerment complaints, jail records show.

The SUV continued speeding in the center of both westbound lanes of 151st Street near Sheridan Road, an arrest report says The vehicle then swerved to the right and hit a guardrail before stopping near Harvard Avenue, the report says.

The arresting officer reported that Rogers smelled of alcohol, was unsteady on her feet and had a blood-alcohol content of 0.15, which is above the 0.08 blood-alcohol legal limit, the report says.

Police said four children between the ages of 3 and 10 were in the SUV.

Rogers was not in custody as of Tuesday night.
