JENKS – Already down one standout senior basketball player, the Bixby Spartans played without another Tuesday night.

Guard Christina Devers injured her left thumb in Friday’s 41-39 win over Sapulpa and missed the 6A No. 2 Spartans’ game at Jenks on Tuesday night.

The Spartans were already without forward Stevi Parker, who missed the Sapulpa game with a stress fracture and is expected to be sidelined for four weeks, Spartans coach Melody Stewart said.

Parker, a University of Tulsa signee, was averaging 14.5 points and 7.5 rebounds. Devers, a Central Arkansas signee, was averaging 20.6 points, 4.9 assists and 4.6 rebounds.

Both watched from the bench in street clothes Tuesday and the Spartans, who entered the game with an 11-2 record, weren't the same without them. Jenks led 29-10 at halftime and 38-10 early in the third quarter.
