At last week's Sapulpa meet, Edison's Jesus Carvajal set a new school record in the 40-yard freestyle with a time of 17.44 seconds, breaking the old mark by .92 of a second.

Carvajal and the Eagles swam state-qualifying times in three relay events, and Carvajal has a state-qualifying time in six events on the season.

Fort Gibson girls do it again: It was another meet and another win for the defending 5A state champion Fort Gibson girls as they topped Stillwater, Booker T. Washington and Oologah last Thursday at their home pool.

The Tigers won eight of the 11 events and were led by Leslie White, who won the 200-meter individual medley and 100 breaststroke and was part of the 200 medley and 200 freestyle relay teams that took first. Hali Martin (400 freestyle), Kyla Martin (100 freestyle) and Whitney Stroup (200-meter freestyle) also picked up individual wins for Fort Gibson.

The Martin sisters, along with Stroup, Sara Nichols and Audrey Ross, made Fort Gibson 3-for-3 on relay events.

Stillwater boys earn meet victory: Booker T. Washington and Oologah could not stand in the way of the Stillwater boys as the Pioneers cruised to victory last Thursday in Fort Gibson.

Mac Johnson (200 IM and 100 fly) and Francisco Ochoa (200 and 400 freestyle) led Stillwater with two individual victories. Charles Clark (100 backstroke) and Jesse Ogle (100 freestyle) recorded individual victories as well.

Johnson, Ochoa, Clark, Ogle, Nate Carman, Trey Cushing, Tommy Hall and Matthew Tree helped Stillwater win all three relay events.
