Letter to the Editor: Retailers benefit

I wish to further support the Downtown Coordinating Council's recommendation of the Downtown Parking Proposal. When rates are discussed, it should be noted why it is important to keep up with peer cities.

Retailers need turnover in order to survive. Currently, downtown has an issue with office workers feeding the meters every two hours rather than paying for reserved parking in one of the nearby lots. When the price for temporary parking is priced accordingly, the retailers will benefit. When the retailers benefit, downtown will continue in its renaissance.
