Oklahoma State gained a verbal commitment Thursday from Tyler (Texas) John Tyler defensive end Tyus Bowser.
A Rivals.com three-star prospect, Bowser (6-foot-3, 225 pounds) is the Cowboys' 22nd commitment for the Class of 2013 and the third defensive end.
Bowser recorded 24.5 sacks as a senior.
According to the East Texas Sports Network, he also will have the opportunity to play basketball at OSU. In addition to six football offers, he has a basketball scholarship offer from Oral Roberts.
Bowser, who visited Stillwater last weekend, is the teammate of receiver Fred Ross, another Cowboys commit. Their high school coach, Ricklan Holmes, played cornerback for OSU in 1999-2002.
Verbal commitments are non-binding. Recruits can sign letters of intent beginning Feb. 6.
