A 55-year-old man was arrested Friday after another man was stabbed to death, Tulsa police said.

Dennis Ray Daney was arrested on a first-degree murder complaint in connection with the slaying of Justin Todd, 31, police reported.

Officers responded just after 5 p.m. to a report of a stabbing victim in the 700 block of North Quincy Avenue. Todd was taken by ambulance to St. John Medical Center, where he died just after 6 p.m., according to police.

Witnesses told police that Daney and the victim had been seen on the porch of a house in the 1300 block of East Haskell Street. Sgt. Dave Walker said neither Daney nor Todd lived at the house.

The victim was then seen staggering off the porch and collapsing. Walker said the house and the spot where Todd was found by emergency responders are about half a block apart.

Daney was arrested at the scene. The motive for the killing was still under investigation Friday night, Walker said.

Daney has several Pittsburg County convictions, including for possession of methamphetamine, driving a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and assault upon a police officer, records show.

This was the 10th homicide in Tulsa this year.
