U-verse, the television and home Internet service provided by AT&T, has been restored after outages plagued part of the system this week, the company announced Thursday.

"The software problem causing the issues was resolved by AT&T engineers early this morning," said Emily Lang, a spokeswoman for Dallas-based AT&T Inc.

"We are not pleased it took so long to fix the issue," she said. "AT&T will provide a credit to customers who were affected. We know our customers count on their U-verse service and we apologize for the inconvenience."

AT&T had said a server outage affected 1 percent of U-verse users across the southern part of the country.

U-verse customers told the Tulsa World their service had been interrupted for as long as two days.
