Letter to the Editor: Reasonable plan

I have never owned a gun and more then likely never will. However, gun control is clearly not the answer and will not solve the problem. Take the guns away from the people and you leave Americans defenseless against the nuts and sick people with a heart to kill. The nuts will always have guns, they will find a way.

I am not a fan of guns and I don't like them at all yet I am not stupid. Guns give Americans a chance to fight back if attacked and no one has the right to remove their right to defend their families and land.

We must have a plan to keep our children safe in our schools. There should be no debate on this; it must be done at once.

When something bad happens, schools go on lockdown. Why wait for something to happen? Why not lock down schools before something happens? When our children are in school it must be locked down until they go home - from morning to afternoon - nobody in and nobody out. If trouble comes, being locked down will allow time to call police and get help.

If schools need deliveries they must be before school or after school.

This is not a perfect plan but it will help by making the schools a very hard place to get into. They won't be an easy target any longer.
