14-3 overall, 3-3 Big 12
Catching up: The 12th-ranked Cowgirls breezed past No. 24 Iowa State 71-42 on Sunday. On Wednesday, OSU was upset in overtime by Kansas State, falling 76-70 in Manhattan.
Player to watch: Toni Young, a senior forward, has scored in double figures in 24 consecutive games. She had 22 points against the Wildcats and leads the Cowgirls with 17.3 points per game and 9.5 rebounds.
Notes
The other side of Bias: Point guard Tiffany Bias, who is known for her assists and timely baskets, also has been a key defender for OSU. She held Iowa State's Nikki Moody to two points on 1-of-8 shooting, and Bias' harassing of Moody led to seven turnovers.
"(Bias) does so much for us," coach Jim Littell said Sunday. "As many minutes as we have to play (her), she just amazes me how she can continue to run and have the energy that she does."
Filling the void: Toni Young got into foul trouble in both games this week, but when she was on the bench in Sunday's victory, OSU was able to increase its lead.
"It's nice that even when she goes down with fouls we have someone who can come off the bench and just pick up her slack and still lead the team," Bias said. "For Toni to go down, it's OK; we still have our whole team."
Moving on up: The Cowgirls jumped five spots to No. 12 in the AP Top 25.
