OSBI, Miami police investigating Saturday shooting

MIAMI, Okla. -- The Miami Police Department is investigating the apparent shooting death of a 38-year-old man early Saturday, the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation announced.
John Allen Largent was discovered by police about 10 a.m. Saturday at a residence in the 100 block of G Southeast in response to a call that someone had been shot, the OSBI said.
At the scene, police found Largent lying on the property with a single gunshot wound.
Authorities then interviewed a person who claimed to accidentally shoot Largent, according to OSBI.
That person was not arrested, OSBI said. No other individuals were taken into custody related to the shooting.
The OSBI is assisting Miami police in the investigation.
