Man dies in early morning motorcycle crash

Tulsa police are investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred early Sunday.
John Akin, 43, was killed when his motorcycle collided with a truck at the intersection of 41st Street and Peoria Avenue, police said.
About 1:25 a.m. a truck was exiting the Kum & Go parking lot when Akin's approaching northbound motorcycle collided with the rear of the truck, police said.
Investigators believe Akin laid the bike down in an attempt to avoid the truck, but slid into the back of the truck, police said.
No citations were issued at the scene. Akin was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, police said.
