Friends are moving on with their lives as witch Rachel Morgan frantically repairs a paranormal rip that is shrinking the homes of demons and eliminating magic.
Fans of Kim Harrison's "The Hollows" series will find heartbreak in this 11th installment - along with a tease of an ending, all leading to the conclusion of this saga.
Harrison has never shied from killing off major characters, so expect not everyone to survive in "Ever After."
The story centers around Morgan fixing a magic environmental tear and seeking to rescue a kidnapped friend and child.
Harrison's gift has been the emotional growth of her characters. This is no exception. The action-packed drama that has been a hallmark of this series takes a backseat at first, as she parcels through some of the relationship changes.
That examination continues as the characters evolve and mature, forcing the main character to face her literal personal demons.
With two books left in the series, this edition is crucial for wrapping up a few loose ends and introducing the possibility of several different conclusions.
