The Jan. 15 headline, "Armstrong still hero," and photo of the cheat and fraud carrying the American flag need to be re-run with an X over his face and Armstrong properly titled as "one of the biggest cheats and frauds in the world." What an error in judgment and values by sportswriter John Hoover to declare Armstrong to be a "hero." Did he heroically cut out the cancer that infected him while riding his bicycle? No, the cheat had the cancer surgically removed and treated by the medical profession - what's the hero in that?
I got a yellow plastic hand bracelet when I signed up for the Livestrong program at the Thornton Y here in Tulsa and threw it in the garbage. Nothing heroic about my having a cancerous tumor cut out of my gut a year ago or going through chemo. The accolades go to the doctors and staff (in my case at the Tulsa Cancer Institute).
"Slung his rock and slay the Philistine?" David slaying Goliath? What total crap written about a cheat who has lived a life of charm with wealth beyond imagination based on lies.
Before your next pontification of some bum, kindly check your premises. Re-run the picture of the bum with the X over his face.
