ALVA — Authorities said a man was killed after a tractor trailer hauling rocks crashed into his house near Alva.
Alva Police Chief Gary Sanderson said 83-year-old Bob Ellis was inside the home at the time of the fatal collision Monday. Authorities said they don't yet know what caused the truck's driver to leave the roadway and crash into the house.
Sanderson said the truck also rear-ended a pickup truck and struck several power poles and a four-wheeler.
Alva Fire Chief Kirk Trekell tells the Enid News & Eagle that the truck went three-quarters of the way through Ellis' house.
Officials said the truck's driver is in fair condition at a hospital.
