Emergency responders dispatched to a medical call early Tuesday detained a man suspected of killing his 78-year-old grandmother while he was apparently high on PCP, police said.
The Tulsa Fire Department was dispatched to the 3200 block of North Wheeling Place at 1:45 a.m. for a woman in distress, said Sgt. Dave Walker.
When firefighters arrived, Antoine Jermaine Jackson, 35, reportedly told them, and later police, that he had killed his grandmother, Arlevia Jackson, according to the arrest report.
Antoine Jackson was “highly agitated and combative” at the scene and is alleged to have told responders that he “smoked water,” a street name for PCP, and killed his grandmother, the arresting officer wrote.
Antoine Jackson is being held at the Tulsa Jail without bond on a complaint of first-degree murder.
Arlevia Jackson’s death is the 12th homicide in the city of Tulsa since Jan. 1.
Detectives have not specified how Arlevia Jackson died but said there were signs of trauma to her body.
