JENKS — A Jenks man was arrested on drug and stolen property offenses after Jenks Campus Police reported a suspicious man walking in the 200 block of K Place just after midnight Tuesday.
A Jenks Public Schools police officer went to the area and made contact Daniel Delgadillo, 19, and noticed a strong odor associated with marijuana and subsequently found him to be in possession of a large amount of marijuana and four stolen checks, the report said.
Delgadillo is being held on complaints of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute within 1,000 feet of a school or park and possession of drug paraphernalia, and four stolen property complaints.
According to the report, Delgadillo admitted that he had marijuana and removed a large bag from his pocket.
After he was placed in custody, police found a pocket scale in his pants pocket along with three checks and a copy of a check.
Delgadillo told police that he had taken the checks — worth more than $8,600 — from mailboxes as he was walking home in the 6100 block of South 33rd West Ave. in Tulsa on the night of Jan. 27, the report said.
Delgadillo told police that he didn’t have a steady income and was looking for money, the report said.
The campus police officer had reported a “suspicious male subject” because Delgadillo was constantly looking over his shoulder at the officer, the report said.
