A robbery charge was filed Wednesday against a Tulsa man who reportedly turned himself in after seeing media reports about the robbery of an Owasso convenience store.
Francisco Javier Birruetta, 19, is charged in Tulsa County District Court with first-degree robbery.
Prosecutors allege that Birruetta stole a 24-pack of beer from the Kum & Go at 307 E. Second Ave. on Jan 12 and fought with a clerk who tried to stop him.
Birruetta turned himself in to police Jan. 22 after watching reports of the robbery on the news, an arrest report indicates.
He remained in the Tulsa Jail on Wednesday with bail set at $50,000.
