Ludger's Bavarian Cakery is moving to the new Tuscana on Yale shopping center at 8931 S. Yale Ave.

"We are just now picking up the keys, and we hope to be open in two or three months," said Allison Dickens, who owns the business with her husband, Chris.

Allison is the stepdaughter of founder Ludger Schulz.

"He's still very active in the business," Dickens said. "He still comes in almost every day."

Unlike the current business, which specializes in catering and special-occasion cakes, the new store will have retail space with an espresso bar, pastries, cakes and breakfast items.

"There is no drive-through, so we are going to offer curb service," Dickens said. "With the technology we have now, people can text their order, which will print out and request curbside service."

Dickens said she expects the new store will be open 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., but that is not a firm decision yet.

Meantime, Ludger's will continue to do business at 6120 E. 32nd Place and currently is taking orders for its popular Valentine's Day cake. It is made with Ludger's signature Bavarian cream cheese cake.

The Valentine's cake is $24.95. To place an order, call 918-622-2537.
