Conference USA has released the University of Tulsa’s 2013 football schedule.

The defending C-USA champion Golden Hurricane opens the season at Bowling Green on Aug. 31.

The nonconference schedule also includes a home clash with Colorado State (Sept. 7), a trip to Oklahoma (Sept. 14) and a home date with Iowa State (Sept. 21).

After meeting in the 2012 opener at Ames and in the Dec. 31 Liberty Bowl, TU and Iowa State will have collided three times within a span of 13 months.

During the 2012 season, TU played eight games before having an open date. This year, the Hurricane has an open date on Sept. 28 and another on Oct. 19.

In conference home games, Tulsa hosts Rice (Oct. 5), Texas-San Antonio (Nov. 2), Marshall (Nov. 16) and North Texas (Nov. 30). Conference road opponents are UTEP (Oct. 12), Tulane (Oct. 26), East Carolina (Nov. 9) and Louisiana Tech (Nov. 23).

Kickoff times and television schedules have not been established.

Five of Tulsa’s opponents were bowl teams in 2012: Bowling Green (Military Bowl), OU (Cotton Bowl), Iowa State, Rice (Armed Forces Bowl) and East Carolina (New Orleans Bowl).
