The National Fiddler Hall of Fame, located in Tulsa, will induct its 2013 class with a Wednesday reception, dinner and induction ceremony at the Jazz Depot, 111 E. First St.

Inductees include Oklahoma fiddlers Byron Berline and Curly Lewis, along with posthumous inductions of Tommy Jackson and Benny Thomasson, and the event will be presented by the National Fiddler Hall of Fame and Tulsa Symphony.

Also, the Time Jumpers band, including Vince Gill, will be honored with a "Special Recognition Award" for the band's contributions to music. Band members are Gill, Larry Franklin, Kenny Sears and Joe Spivey. The Time Jumpers' self-titled album was recently nominated for a Grammy.

The Byron Berline Band will perform at 8 p.m. Reception starts at 6:30 p.m., and catered buffet dinner and induction kicks off at 7 p.m., organizers said. Grammy-winning musician Mark O'Connor will be a special guest.

Tickets are $30, available at tulsaworld.com/jazzhalltix and at the venue. Proceeds benefit the National Fiddler Hall of Fame and the Tulsa Symphony Education Fund.

The hall of fame was established in 2007 to honor individuals for their contributions to fiddling and to preserve, educate and promote the art of fiddling and its historical and social significance. Previous inductees include Bob Wills, Woody Paul and Mark O'Connor.

Berline, a Guthrie resident, is recognized by many as one of the world's premier fiddle players of traditional bluegrass and Western Swing music.
