Perhaps they saved the best for last, as "American Idol" finally airs last summer's Oklahoma City auditions at 7 p.m. on Fox 23.
But last night's two-hour episode of auditions in both San Antonio and Long Beach, Calif., already showcased some Tulsa talent.
Matt Farmer sang Sam Cook's "Change Is Gonna Come" on Wednesday night's auditions episode from Long Beach.
Matt, who had one of the more inspirational stories of the evening, served in Iraq and was badly injured by an IED. But he recovered from his traumatic brain injury and, despite being told he would be sterile, has a gorgeous little 3-year-old daughter.
Moreover, he has a strong voice that earned him a golden ticket to Hollywood. Can't wait to see what happens with him.
