The Tulsa Shock’s 2013 home opener will be nationally televised by ESPN at 2 p.m. May 27 (Memorial Day).

Shock president Steve Swetoha made that announcement near the end of Thursday’s roughly 40-minute press conference at the BOK Center to discuss the team’s multi-year partnership with Osage Casino.

Tulsa will open the 2013 season on the road a few days earlier, Swetoha said. The May 27 game is the first at home.

WNBA president Laurel Richie said she could not name the opponent, apparently because the full league schedule isn’t settled.

“We’re still working on some things,” Richie said.

The May 27 game will be the first Shock home game to appear as part of ESPN’s WBN package since ESPN2 televised two games from the BOK Center in 2010, the team’s first year in Tulsa.
